Responsibility and sustainability
Beyond legal considerations, it is up to the various Swiss refiners to implement the measures, norms and standards to enable them to continue to operate as refiners, but based on an ethical approach, centred on respect for human and environmental rights.
Our members take their social responsibility very seriously. They continuously investigate and review their business practices in order to achieve the highest standards in areas regarding the environment, social factors, politics and human rights.
In addition they play an active role in national and international committees, on the one hand to manage natural resources in a responsible manner and on the other to meet the strictest demands as regards combating money laundering, the financing of terrorism or conflicts, child labour and the abuse of human rights.
It is the responsibility of the members of the association to raise any doubts as regards the traceability of precious metals imported into Switzerland and to stop any imports that may be dubious.
